Engaging children. Supporting educators. Transforming schools.
Mindfulness is such a valuable tool that we want to offer our courses to professionals and parents who feel their work would benefit from our trainings. We do not want money to be an impediment to learning or sharing mindfulness. Therefore, we offer financial assistance and encourage you to apply if you are genuinely in need.
Mindful Schools provides a variety of payment options for our trainings to balance our financial stability with our financial assistance program. Each training has a limited number of scholarship slots for those who genuinely are unable to afford the registration fee. If you can pay the full or early registration rates, we ask that you do so as this fund is designed for those truly in financial need. Due to the large number of applicants, you may not receive a scholarship at this time, but are welcome to apply again for a future training or get in touch with Christina Costelo, Training Coordinator, for other payment options.
1. Full Payment: $485 2. Early Registration: $385 3. Sliding Scale: $285 – $485 4. Work Trade Scholarship: $150
We see this scholarship as an investment in participants who are interested and qualified to use our curriculum. We ask the same amount of investment from scholarship recipients by helping us support the success of our trainings. All scholarship recipients are required to help us with our grassroots marketing and those who receive the Work Trade Scholarship are asked to also commit to helping out with various tasks at the training. We award these scholarships based on the level of need. Scholarship applications are due 4 weeks before a training and you will be notified within a week after the due date.
Grassroots Marketing If you are rewarded a scholarship, we will discuss your options for grassroots marketing. Our most successful method of marketing has been word of mouth. You can email a flyer with a short blurb we would provide you to 15 friends or colleagues you think would be interested in either our Online Mindfulness Fundamentals course or our Curriculum Training. You can also post or leave flyers in places you feel would generate interest. We ask that you CC us on your email or tell us where you’ve left flyers, so we can see where our participants are coming from. If you are unsure of who to spread the word to, we can figure out another volunteering option for you to fulfill the agreement. Once you fulfill this portion of the agreement, we give you a registration code to register for the training.
Supporting at the Training (Work Trade) The largest scholarship amount is reserved for individuals who absolutely cannot pay any higher than $150. If you were to receive one of these slots, we would ask you to support us at the trainings in addition to marketing. We have found that asking for work trade in exchange for scholarship increases the participation and commitment of the scholarship recipient.
There are a variety of tasks to be done such as helping set up the room, putting together our curriculum folders, putting together name tags, putting up directional signs, helping check people in, collecting payments and helping clean up the training at the end. If you have any restrictions we should know about, please let us know and we will accommodate you.
Paying by Increments If you’d like to pay by increments towards the full or early registration amount, please contact Christina Costelo at Christina@mindfulschools.org.
