I teach mindfulness to K-12 students and I give workshops to teachers and parents. I also teach emotional intelligence, teamwork and leadership skills through the mindfulness practice to professionals in the workplace.
Anca has lived, studied and worked in four countries and her career took many turns, from elementary school teacher to working with language teachers, connecting students from different cultures around the world through short-term family stays.
Anca’s journey with contemplative practices started in her high school years and, prior to coming to mindfulness, she had an established Qigong practice. Her curiosity in mindfulness came from a desire to teach meditation to her two children and she remained faithful to the practice after seeing many positive benefits for her whole family. She continues to deepen her practice with a guiding teacher at a local community of mindfulness practitioners and she attends retreats regularly.
After finishing her year-long certification training with Mindful Schools, Anca decided to volunteer for a year so that she could both learn and serve in the community. She led mindfulness sessions with students of all ages throughout the school year and she also introduced groups of adults to mindfulness. Her main learning comes from leading on-going mindfulness sessions at the women’s prison and at a local homeless youth shelter.
Anca is the founder of Pragmatic Mindfulness, a consulting agency offering workshops and programs to professionals in the workplace with the purpose of developing emotional intelligence, teamwork and leadership skills. In addition, Anca offers the 8-week Mindful Schools curriculum to K-12 students in Twin Cities schools.
