Anique is a certified mindfulness, meditation, and yoga teacher who works to spread the benefits of mindful practices in Ann Arbor and Southeast Michigan. A mindfulness meditation practitioner for over 9 years, she is passionate about sharing its myriad benefits for mental, physical, and emotional well-being. She runs summer camps, group classes, workshops, after-school programs, and individual/group/family mindfulness sessions for all ages. She teaches mindfulness in schools, working with both students and teachers to create a more mindful school community. Many of her programs integrate yoga, movement, and games to teach these powerful practices in an engaging and dynamic way.
Additionally, Anique works with individual clients of all ages, using a holistic mind-body approach to help them attain emotional wellness. By guiding them through individualized practices that calm the nervous system, balance emotions, reduce stress, and create positive changes in the way the brain functions, she empowers them with practical tools for mental, physical, and emotional health. She specializes in working with individuals with high sensitivity, anxiety, depression, and difficulty managing emotions. She incorporates a variety of research-validated techniques from mindful awareness practices, including various forms of mindfulness, meditation, breath work, and yoga.
Anique holds a Master’s degree in Educational Studies from the University of Michigan, a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University, a certification in mindfulness education from Mindful Schools, as well as both adult and child yoga teacher certifications. She has extensive training in mindful awareness practices, including a year-long intensive mindfulness course, a Nia (mindful movement) certification, and a six-month fellowship in somatic meditation and breath work.
Anique is very grateful that she gets to do the work that she loves most, and give back to the community where she grew up.
