Working with Elementary to High School aged students in both private and public school settings. Ann specializes in tailoring a mindfulness curriculum to the needs of group of students – from an 8-week to a 16-week in-class series to a tailored series for an outside group (i.e. working with teens facing the stresses of high school and college applications).
Ann Hollar is a mindfulness instructor in Seattle. She has a M. Ed from the University of Washington. Her thesis was titled, “Mindfulness in Education: The Secular Intersection of Buddhism and Neuroscience.” Secular mindfulness is her approach for teaching mindfulness to students in both public and private elementary, middle, and high schools. In addition, Ann is a facilitator-in-training for Cultivating Awareness and Resilience in Education (CARE), a mindfulness program that focuses primarily on the needs of a teacher in the classroom, helping prevent burnout and gain greater emotional regulation within a classroom. Her personal integration of mindfulness is constantly being kept alive via interactions with her three tween and teenaged boys.
