After teaching 1st/2nd grade for 20 years, Carol made the decision to leave the classroom to devote herself to teaching mindfulness to students and teachers full time. She brings her experience as a teacher into her mindfulness practice. She knows the incredible stress teachers face everyday, and knows the mounting stress today’s students and parents are facing, as well. Carol has family experience with ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, and Alzheimer’s Disease, and knows how a mindfulness practice can help both those who suffer and their caregivers.
Carol has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in reading assessment and instruction, and served as a mentor teacher for over 15 years. She completed her mindfulness training through Mindful Schools, including Mindfulness Fundamentals, Mindful Educator Essentials, and the Year-long Certification Program. In 2015, Carol founded Mindful Opportunities, LLC, an outside provider organization servicing the Flint and Detroit areas of Michigan.
