Clara Irwin was introduced to mindfulness while working in a hospital setting after graduating from The School of Social Work at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Opportunities presented themselves early on in her career to study and practice mindfulness in retreat settings, meditation groups, and in trainings. She has taken the MBSR class and continues to deepen her understanding and practice at UMass Center for Mindfulness.
Her interest in teaching mindfulness lead her to the Mindful Schools Program. Along with teaching children, she helps lead a community meditation group. In her therapy practice, she bring mindfulness into her work with individuals and families. She is grateful to be able to share with others the wisdom and practice of mindfulness which has taught her how to live in the present moment with compassion for herself and others.
