Introduction, Implementation of mindfulness practices in Education; Numerous Presentations -Variety of audiences, and training to help all schools, after school integration, and small non-profits in small companies, and all who want to utilize mindfulness approaches for parents, students, and leaders by cultivating compassion in self and beyond. Past five years of implementing and integrating mindfulness into PE classes from 3 year old to 5th graders, as well as after school programs for middle- high school students. I believe in all types of movement to facilitate mindfulness and expression of feelings (yoga, Krump/hip hop therapy) and free-style. My passion is helping students find moments of peace, continuously.
Crystal Reimer is a teacher of 22 years and is currently initiating a doctorate in Kinesiology. Academic study is expected to articulate Kinesiology with mindfulness. A national consultant and trainer in mindfulness in education, and best practices including all students in educational settings – for now and life – in the most innovative of ways. She has been teaching and coaching since 1993 (ELA classrooms, fields, and gym settings) and is a national speaker for Best Practices in P.E. During graduate school she wrote a Partner P.E. manual, which was adopted by Texas Region 10 Education Service Center, and is still widely used today by adapted physical education teachers. For the past five years she has been combining mindfulness practices along with poverty research in her PE classes. After six months of informal measurements, she began sharing out about the incredible shifts in her classes with drops of mindfulness strategies and activities. As her personal practice developed, so did her curriculum and relationships with students. Currently, she is a recent graduate of the 2017 year long mindfulness certification program through Mindful Schools and implementing mindfulness in an after-school program in a stressed area of Dallas. She lives in Dallas with her wife and two cats.
