David leads trainings and workshops for groups of all ages and offers individualized coaching services. David’s workshops aim to provide an authentic, practical and customized approach to mindfulness training. David’s trainings often include fun and engaging movement practices that draw from improv comedy and athletics. This interactive approach is based on the fundamental belief that these practices are most beneficial when they are accessible to individuals, not just in safety and silence, but amidst real-life stress and challenges.

Biography

David Charny is an experienced mindfulness practitioner and is a 2017 graduate of the Mindful Schools Year Long certification. David received his M.S. in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Temple University and currently works in the Greater Philadelphia area as a Mental Skills Coach. David’s coaching utilizes mindfulness as a tool towards enhancing performance for athletes and performers of all ages. David recently expanded his coaching services to include individuals with health and exercise-related goals who may be suffering from anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions and/or obesity. In addition, David is an American Council of Exercise Certified Personal Trainer and works with clients to; improve posture and balance, mitigate chronic pain, and overcome barriers to exercise. His work as a personal trainer emphasizes the mind-body connection, breathing, somatic sensations and kinesthetic learning. David is currently pursuing an advanced doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). There he is the President of the Mind and Body Club, and hosts weekly drop-in meditation groups.
