Biography

Elizabeth has supported youth and their families for nearly twenty years primarily in school settings.  She has worked in the NYC Public Schools, abroad in Barcelona, Spain and currently as a school counselor at the United Nations International School (UNIS) in NYC.

As a counselor and meditation practitioner herself, Elizabeth sees one of her primary responsibilities as creating an environment where youth, and their families, can tap into their inner intelligence, experience presence and increased self awareness, and cultivate a greater sense of well-being through the practice of mindfulness.  Having successfully introduced mindfulness at UNIS in the classroom, small groups and one on one, she also hosts mindfulness groups and workshops with colleagues and parents as well as in her local community in Inwood, NYC.

Two observations in her work that motivate and excite Elizabeth are the ease with which many children and young adults seem to integrate these practices into their daily lives and how quickly adults seem to notice the benefits of stillness and silence in their lives.

Elizabeth is available as an outside provider to work with youth, those that serve youth directly, and parents in educational settings and agencies throughout the tristate area (NY, NJ & CT).
