My experience teaching mindfulness spans a wide age range (from elementary school students to adults) and encompasses many settings, including schools, community arenas, and businesses. I am passionate about offering mindfulness to all–children as well as adults from diverse backgrounds and in varied settings.
Karyn Sandelman is the Director of Elementary and Adult Programs for Minds Incorporated, a non-profit organization that brings mindfulness to youth and their adult communities in the Washington, D.C. metro area. She is also the lead teacher and founder of A Mindful Choice, LLC, which offers secular mindfulness programs to diverse audiences in schools, businesses, and community settings. Karyn is a Certified Instructor for Mindful Schools, has completed rigorous training to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and is a long-time mindfulness practitioner. She earned her master of science degree from Columbia University and bachelor of science degree from Cornell University. In addition to holding senior corporate managerial positions in the past, Karyn has also directed corporate philanthropy groups, served on non-profit organizations’ boards of directors, and always been an avid volunteer.
