About My Work
- Mental Health Professional
- Education / Classroom Program
As a school psychologist I specialize in working with students from K – 12 in the public school system. My role includes the administration of psycho-educational assessments, behaviour consultation, counselling, and professional development for school-based staff. Working with students with special needs including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, trauma, and anxiety is my passion.
Kelly Humphries is a school psychologist who has worked since 2001 in the public school system in Nova Scotia, Canada. Looking to better service the students in her schools, Kelly started her training in mindfulness in 2014 through Mindful Schools. She has a passion for working with youth on developing tools to help them thrive in a world with increasing demands and stress. Since the fall of 2014, Kelly along with her partner in crime, Shannon Hartlen, have offered a school-based wellness group titled “Mindfulness in Action” (MIA) where adults working in the school system come together once a month to learn about mindfulness for themselves as well as how to incorporate it into their work with students. Kelly has also consulted with other school boards and outside agencies including health care regarding mindfulness-based practices.
