Biography

Kimberly Spanjol, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LMHC, CHES is a forensic psychologist, doctoral level board certified behavior analyst, licensed mental health counselor and certified humane education specialist with over 25 years experience working with children, teens, adolescents and young adults.  Her areas of expertise are behavior modification, CBT, DBT, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Humane Education, Service/Experiential Learning and Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT).  She offers individual and group sessions, including social skills groups and parent/caregiver training, and provides services in office, home and school settings.  Kimberly also leads professional development training workshops on a variety of topics, teaches college courses and conducts research in addition to her private practice.  She is currently teaching social justice courses at the City University of New York (CUNY), as well as evaluating the effectiveness of implementing animal assisted therapy programs with incarcerated youth.
