I specialize in providing mindfulness to my students on a daily basis. I have created an opportunity to support the students in self-awareness, stress-reduction, positive relationships, focus, gratitude, self-control of emotions, and loving kindness. This practice is to create a general sense of well-being for themselves and the others in their community. To ensure an overall practice of mindfulness in the school community, I have given workshops and guided mindfulness sessions for colleagues.
Kristen has brought together her love for teaching children and her yoga teaching through mindfulness practice. She has been teaching overseas for 15 years at various international schools in Colombia, Bangladesh and China. In 2006, Kristen received her yoga teaching certification, and in 2012, she found the practice of mindfulness as a bridge for her two passions of teaching and yoga. Since then, she has been leading her students through mindfulness practice on a daily basis. She has provided educational workshops for her colleagues and for other professionals at other schools as well. She also offers guided mindfulness sessions to her colleagues after school to allow them the opportunity to grow as mindful professionals and to help spread the practice to their students.
