After over 15 years of experience in classroom and therapeutic settings working with children and youth from 3yrs old to 16 years old, Lucy co-founded Design to Connect with another Mindful Schools graduate and school psychologist, Jelena Popovic.
Design to Connect facilitates processes in
which the vitality, authenticity and wisdom within each person and organization becomes known to itself, engages and transforms in relationship with others, and catalyzes transformative learning and action around common purpose.
Lucy and Jelena love to learn and have a depth of practice and training in various modalities that support their work, but they are more interested in learning about and drawing out the strengths of the participants in their groups.
But…in case you are interested, Jelena serves as the Teaching Peace in Schools leadership council lead for The Peace Alliance (www.peacealliance.org), is a U.N certified cross-cultural facilitator, serves as Mindful Schools mentor (www.mindfulschools.org), is a school psychologist, as well as a Relax Kids trainer/coach (www.relaxkids.com). She holds a graduate degree in school psychology from Tufts University.
Lucy holds a degree in Sociology/Social Work and is an accredited Montessori teacher. She is a certified Children’s Yoga instructor, is trained as a Relax Kids Coach and serves as Mindfulness Consultant for Rainbow Institute, promoting holistic education. She is classroom teacher at Rainbow Community School. Lucy is trained in Whole Person Process Facilitation, Strategic Planning and the art of hosting Mentoring Circles and Mastermind groups.
Lucy and Jelena design customized, sustainable and embedded implementation of mindfulness practices within educational settings though their unique Communities Of Practice model. They co-facilitate mindfulness workshops and retreats for educators, lead nature based based programs that empower young women, and guide students in mindfulness as playfulness in schools.
In their work, Lucy and Jelena combine their experience in classroom teaching, school psychology, adventure based learning and mindfulness and yoga. They call on the power of nature, storytelling, and the wisdom inherent within groups.
Design to Connect processes are holistic and highly participatory.
We facilitate, you lead.
