I specialize in direct mindfulness instruction for elementary students, as well as providing system level support to integrate mindfulness in schools via professional development, trainings/workshops, and presentations to staff. Additionally I provide workshops/presentations to parents.
Michael Vande Loo is a licensed School Psychologist (NCSP) with 18 years of educational experience. Michael started working as a school psychologist (Pre-K to 12) in public schools while in Colorado, USA. For the past 14 years he’s worked as school counselor (Pre-K to 12) in 3 different international private schools. Michael is currently working as an elementary counselor and head counselor at Carol Morgan School in the Dominican Republic. He focuses on the social emotional development of all stakeholders within his the school, including mindfulness lessons for elementary students, parent and staff presentations/workshops and professional development at other local schools. Michael’s has given a variety of presentations based on mindfulness and social emotional learning including Mindfulness for Parents, Attunement and Attachment, The Power of Failure: Building Resiliency in Children, Whole Brain Child, Changing Your Relationship with Stress, and Building a Community Through Purposeful Practice: Compassion, Empathy, Deep Listening, and Creating True Encounters. Michael is happily married and has two children.
