Nora Yasumura holds a Masters in Social Work (MSW) degree from New York University with a professional background in mindfulness education, cultural and racial identity exploration, community organizing, adaptive and inclusive leadership, as well as human behavior and counseling.
Nora is passionate about facilitating spaces that inspire participants to mindfully examine their inner resources and remain curious about their interconnections with others. She brings over 30 years of experience as an administrator, counselor, classroom teacher, and diversity consultant. She worked as an Assistant Dean of Student Life at Dartmouth College for 12 years where she applied Mindfulness skills to the different diversity and inclusion programs that she developed. She taught Mindfulness classes at the Indian Mountain School where she served as a Life Skills teacher for students k – 9th grade. She currently is a Class Dean and Director of Student Clubs and Affinity Groups at the Hotchkiss School, a secondary independent boarding school. Lastly, she serves as a diversity consultant working with private and public schools as well as colleges and universities.
