Patricia Ward has over 35 years of experience working in schools with students, teachers and school leaders. She has a Masters degree in the area of Learning Disabilities, has served as a special education teacher consultant, a curriculum director, a professional learning consultant, Title I director, and adjunct instructor at several universities.
She has served on the National Board for the Learning Disabilities Association and was State President for 2 years for the Learning Disabilities Association of Michigan. She has provided school wide professional development in over 50 school districts in Michigan and presented at many state and national educational conferences throughout the US.
Beginning with a personal practice over 8 years ago, she became interested in teaching mindfulness in schools while participating in a Contemplative Practices group at Grand Valley State University as an adjunct instructor. She currently teaches mindfulness to students, teachers and educational leaders. She has created “Mindful Moments in Education”, a network of adults that serves to support an adult personal practice, student lesson discussions, and community sharing and caring. In addition to in-school mindfulness programs, she also offers private individual (or small group) sessions, mini-retreats, and professional development sessions.
