I specialize in working with “at-risk” youth, as well as incarcerated youth and adults. I also have experience and contemplative training working in end-of-life, hospice care.
Ry has been working professionally with “at-risk” youth for over eighteen years. Currently he is the Intervention Specialist for the Columbia County Department of Community Justice, serving both youth and adults involved in the Justice System. Prior to this he was a Juvenile Counselor for 10 years and the Treatment Leader for the Elements Program, serving high-risk incarcerated youth on the North Oregon Coast. He is also a volunteer Chaplain for Hospice and a member of the No One Dies Alone (NODA) Program, which is dedicated to “providing caring, bedside companionship for dying patients who are alone at the end of life”.
Ry is also a trained Contemplative Psychotherapist and graduate of Naropa University’s MA in Contemplative Psychotherapy Program. He was Ordained as a Chaplain by Roshi Joan Halifax in March 2013.
