I specialize in bringing mindfulness to schools, families, and individuals who are interested in incorporating mindfulness for sustainable change. I am an advocate of whole-child approaches to education, and of using mindfulness to strengthen student autonomy, self-awareness, and confidence. I have developed two school-wide mindfulness programs and have designed a school for students with Autism that incorporates mindfulness specifically for ASD. I love working with families as well as problem solving how to increase the health of family and organizational systems.

Biography

Sarah Shoemaker comes from a background in Special Education, School Administration, and whole-child wellness. As a public school administrator, she realized how much students needed mindfulness as a tool for introspection and nervous-system regulation, and she’s developed two school-wide mindfulness programs that fully integrate mindfulness and holistic academics. She has extensive experience in experiential education, group facilitation, project planning, students with different abilities, and she enjoys problem solving. She is the founder of Embodied Breath, a mindfulness-based consultancy for mothers, children, and schools, where she works to develop case-specific interventions routed in mindfulness in order to support the genuine well-being of her clients. We live in an ever-busy world, and it is important that we create opportunities for regulation and awareness. Sarah is happy to hear about what you want to create, and help you reach your mindful goals!
