About My Work
- Mental Health Professional
- Education / Classroom Program
As a School Psychologist, I work with students from K-12 in the public school system providing psychoeducational assessments, behaviour assessments, consultation and professional development for school staff.
Shannon first became interested in Mindfulness about 12 years ago first for herself and then began to explore how she could incorporate mindfulness practice into her work in public education. Through years of participating in workshops, week-long courses and studying the research behind mindfulness, Shannon was the first to introduce mindfulness education for students and teachers within South Shore Regional School Board. This lead to partnering with her long-time friend and colleague, Kelly Humphries, to embark on the year-long training with Mindful Schools. Along with Kelly, Shannon is proud to be offering ongoing training for school board staff as well as directly teaching students mindfulness in the classroom. They continue to be invited to other school boards and outside agencies to provide professional development opportunities in Mindfulness.
