Sharon Naylor is a licensed Occupational Therapist, educator, and mindfulness facilitator. She has over 30 years’ experience in the field of adolescent and adult mental health. Her work has focused on trauma informed care and mindfulness. As a therapist and mindful schools’ instructor, she helps youth and the people who care for them develop resilience and self-care. She has worked both one-on-one and in small groups with youth in the child welfare system and in traditional classrooms. She consults throughout the state of Illinois on ways to help youth in the foster care system thrive. She has provided mindfulness-based training to caregivers to address compassion fatigue. Sharon’s personal practice and professional work reflect her beliefs that bringing mindfulness into the lives of youth and adults is an act of compassion that affects social, emotional and academic development, thus enhancing awareness and compassion in a world that can thrive one breath at a time.
