One-on-one coaching for students, parents, or teachers; administrative consultation regarding school- or district-wide implementation of mindfulness programs; mindfulness in independent school settings.
Specific populations include nervous system challenges (working with Tourette Syndrome/tics, OCD, ADHD), LGBT populations and mindfulness is diversity/identity work, stress and the college process (for parents and for students).
Alan Brown is a Dean at Grace Church School in New York City, where he also leads the 9th-12th grade mindfulness program as well as the parent mindfulness program. Alan has taught in both public and private settings as a humanities instructor, and has worked with many other schools and districts as a trainer for GLSEN (the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network).
Blending a thorough understanding of the unique challenges facing students, parents, and teachers, with a firm belief that all people can learn to thrive both physically and mentally, Alan offers a framework that blends mindfulness and positive psychology through individual coaching, group teaching, and organizational consulting.
