“At first I feel stiff. And then when I let go and exhale, I feel relaxed.”
– Londyn, 9 years old

With prolonged periods of isolation due to COVID-19, children and families are feeling the impact to their mental health and well-being. Meet Michael and his daughter Londyn, who took Mindful Schools’ free online classes together and were interviewed for CNN’s Impact Your World.

“After a while you’ll feel how much stress you’re relieving, and it becomes part of your day.”
– Michael, Stay-at-home dad

Mindfulness is learning how to pay attention to what’s happening in the present moment experience. We spend a lot of time lost in thought or worrying about what’s happening in the future or in the past. Paying attention to present sensations like the breath can help us move out of the fight-or-flight mode we experience during stressful moments.
