Join us! About This WorkshopResearch demonstrates that secure attachment is one of the fundamentals children need in order to grow into healthy and successful adults. Early environmental conditions in the home influence whether a child will develop secure or insecure attachment strategies for getting their needs met in relationships. If the conditions in the home are not adequate to ensure secure relational patterns, ancillary caregivers, such as teachers, can greatly influence a child’s developing sense of self, positively impacting their attachment patterns throughout their lives. Secure attachment develops in the here and now. Cultivating secure relationships throughout life requires the moment-to-moment awareness that mindfulness practice provides. This workshop is designed for educators and parents and will focus on an introduction to the core concepts of attachment research and mindfulness strategies for impacting healthy relational dynamics with students.
