Emily Saunders is a community-based social worker who integrates mindfulness into her therapeutic, classroom, and systems-level work with schools, families, at-risk young people, and adult clients. She lives and practices daily mindfulness in Arizona where she is regularly humbled by the natural wisdom and intelligence of all humans and the ability of mindfulness tools to make these qualities accessible. Emily has previously served as a classroom teacher, mindfulness educator, and family therapist for justice-involved teenagers in New York City. She has consulted, delivered training, and developed curriculum for numerous public schools and service organizations.
Emily’s intersecting interests and training include school climate transformation, restorative justice, anti-oppressive education approaches, integrated healthcare systems, mindful creative expression. She is thankful for the support she has received from extraordinary teachers and mentors, and is happy to connect via modern technology or in person, for those in the Phoenix and Tucson areas.
