I specialize in teaching mindfulness to young people (grades K-12) from underserved populations. My students have been featured on NPR’s “The Pulse” and a local NBC affiliate (http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Students-Find-Calm-Through-Mindfulness-and-Meditation-268729221.html).
I also offer mindfulness classes for teachers and school staff and am a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher at Thomas Jefferson University’s Center for Integrated Medicine.
Jamie is a longtime mindfulness practitioner and public school teacher who passionately believes in the transformative power of mindfulness. Her mission is to share mindfulness practices with young people and families from high-stress, underserved neighborhoods. She has taught children, teens and teachers mindfulness skills that have supported them through exceptionally stressful events.
Jamie currently teachers Mindfulness and English as a Second Language at Ziegler Elementary School in the School District of Philadelphia.
Jamie also facilitates adult Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) classes at The Mindfulness Institute at Thomas Jefferson University. She was awarded a Hemera Foundation Contemplative Fellowship for Teachers in 2014.
