Dr. Tasheka Cox, Ed.D, LICSW is a mindfulness based psychotherapist who specializes in treating anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and life transition difficulties. Dr. Cox works with individuals, families, and groups in her private practice in Washington, DC.
Dr. Cox earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from North Carolina Central University. Then completed a Master of Social Work at University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Later, Dr. Cox earned her Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University. Dr. Cox has over 10 years of professional counseling experience working in private, non-profit, and public institutions.
Dr. Cox has received extensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) through the Beck Institute. She received training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through The Center for Mindful Living in Washington, DC. Furthermore, Dr. Cox is certified to provide curriculum based psycho-education for adolescents using the Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) program.
Dr. Cox is fully trained by Mindful Schools to provide Mindful Curriculum for Adolescents in Middle and High School.
