In-School Program

Professional Development

Step 1: Learn About Our Program

Mindfulness teaches students to pay attention to their experiences. In a series of engaging lessons, students increase their self-awareness, impulse control, focus, and empathy. The program is school-wide so everyone benefits simultaneously, creating a culture of calm, safety, focus, and connection.

The program includes:

  • Fifteen lessons taught in every class in 15-minute increments over 5 to 8 weeks
  • Four 30-minute trainings for school teachers and administrators
  • One 45-minute info night for parents and guardians
  • A mindfulness workbook for each student
  • A mindfulness manual for each classroom teacher
  • A mindfulness bell for each classroom
  • The cost is $800 per classroom (approximately $40 per child)

Step 2: Schedule a Free Presentation

Our free 45-minute presentation educates your staff and administrators about mindfulness and our program. Together, you can determine if the program is right for your school. This presentation includes:

  • An overview of mindfulness and an experiential introduction
  • The history, brain science, and research behind mindfulness
  • What our in-school program would look like in your school

No financial commitment is required to receive this presentation.

Step 3: Fill Out an Application

To apply for our program, simply request and fill out an application. Submit the application to programs@mindfulschools.org. Our School Coordinator will then contact you with contract, financial, and scheduling information.

We provide scholarships based on the free/reduced lunch student percentage.

Professional Development

In addition to our in-school program, Mindful Schools offers various professional development options to support your school’s staff:

1. Three Hour Training at Your School: includes stress reduction techniques, team building activities, intention setting, morale boosting reflections, and self-awareness tools. For information contact programs@mindfulschools.org.

2. Mindfulness Fundamentals at Your School: covers the basic techniques of mindfulness, and will help teachers build their own practice. For more information, please visit our Mindfulness Fundamentals page and then contact kate@mindfulschools.org.
